Attorney Website Redesign

Project: Website design

Built on: WordPress

Timeline: 8 Weeks

The National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR) is a specialized bar association established in 1979.

NOSSCR provides continuing legal education and public policy advocacy for attorneys and advocates representing Social Security Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Income claimants. Their work is crucial in ensuring that people with disabilities receive fair representation throughout the adjudicative process.

Scope of Work

To address these challenges, we undertook a comprehensive website redesign project that included the following key elements:

  1. User Segmentation & Journey Creation:
    • Analysis: We began by analyzing the different types of users interacting with NOSSCR’s website, identifying five primary user groups: attorneys, advocates, members of the public, administrative staff, and potential new members.
    • Segmentation: We then created distinct user journeys for each group, ensuring that each segment had a clear and intuitive path to the information and resources they needed.
    • Improved Navigation: By segmenting the users, we were able to simplify the navigation, making it easier for users to find relevant content quickly.
  2. PHP Optimization & Custom Plugin Development:
    • Custom Forum: NOSSCR required a robust forum for its members to discuss case strategies, share insights, and collaborate. We optimized a custom PHP plugin that enabled the organization to run a fully customized forum, tailored specifically to the needs of their members.
    • Search Functionality: Recognizing the need for quick access to specialized legal information, we developed custom search engine pages. This feature allows website visitors to retrieve obscure and detailed legal information in seconds, significantly improving the efficiency of research and case preparation.
  3. Content Management & Migration:
    • Blog Post Transfer: NOSSCR had a wealth of knowledge stored in over 200 blog posts, which we carefully migrated to the new website. This process included updating the posts to fit the new site’s design and ensuring that all content was categorized and tagged appropriately for easy access.
    • Events Page with Subscription Capabilities:
    • Calendar Integration: We created a dedicated events page where NOSSCR could post upcoming events, workshops, and seminars. This page was equipped with subscription capabilities, allowing members to sign up for events directly through the website and upload them to their personal calendars seamlessly.

Results

The redesigned NOSSCR website has transformed the way the organization interacts with its members and the public. The improved user experience, coupled with enhanced functionality, has led to a significant increase in user engagement and satisfaction. Attorneys and advocates now have quick access to the resources they need, and NOSSCR’s administrative team can manage content more efficiently. The custom search engine pages and the optimized forum have become invaluable tools for members, reinforcing NOSSCR’s position as a leader in advocacy and education for Social Security Disability representation.

Conclusion

Through a strategic redesign and the development of tailored solutions, we were able to meet NOSSCR’s needs and exceed their expectations. The new website not only reflects the professionalism of the organization but also serves as a powerful resource for its members and the public. NOSSCR is now better equipped to fulfill its mission of providing education and advocacy for those representing people with disabilities.
